18th April 2013

We have had another update from Bosch. They have now managed to find and repair 173,431 of the recalled dishwashers. This is up 5,000 on 2 weeks ago.

In the last month we have seen a remarkable increase in the number of additional dishwashers that Bosch has managed to find and repair. On the 12th March they had recalled nearly 153,000 dishwashers. On the 15th March ITV ran an extended report on the dishwasher recall and in the following month Bosch managed to find another 20,000 dishwashers.

We believe that most of this increase can be attributed to the ITV report that raised the awareness of people who had not seen Bosch's extensive advertising campaigns. However, it should be noted that Bosch was also running another newspaper advertising campaign at the same time.

In the 6 months prior to the ITV report Bosch had managed to find and repair approx. 2,000 recalled dishwashers. In the month following the ITV report they found 10 times as many.
