Toyota Avensis Steering Recall


Recall Summary

A faulty component can result in the loss of steering in some Toyota Avensis cars.


Recall Issue

Toyota has found that on some Avensis cars with Electric Motor Assisted Power Steering (EMPS) a component of the steering system is sub-standard. Over time this can result in a loss of steering.

Toyota is recalling the affected Avensis cars to check and, if necessary, replace the faulty component.


Toyota Avensis Cars Affected By This Recall

There are 79,286 Toyotas (across all models) affected by this recall. They were built between June 2003 and March 2009.
